Psalms 32-33
”Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.“
Psalms 33:18-22 NKJV
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
Psalm 32-33
David was joyful for the forgiveness he had received from God. We are so fortunate to share in that forgiveness because of our faith in God. He is our deliverer .
Psalm 33 verse 6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
God is our creator, he is the Lord of all creation! Verse 14 says “from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth” he knows us and he knows our hearts.
In this Psalm 32; David starts out with an amazing verses. Psalm 32:1,2 {Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.} Is there such a man? We know that in our time we are in Christ and that He has taken away all our sins once we trusted in Him. That is the only way that when God sees us; He sees us through His Righteous Son. But in the time of David they looked toward the hope of their sins being taking away. This is what they did every time they offered certain animals sacrifices for their sins. All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. But the perfect sacrifice was Jesus Christ the Lamb of God. We know that all these Old Testament believers like David, Moses, Noah, and so many others will be in Heaven. Again we know that they were sinners; but their hearts were fully trusting in the Lord. God was their hiding place, and refuge. vs 7. David says that there would be no guile or sin found in him. Guile means deceitful, so the person without guile would be honest. There is such a man in the New Testament that is referred to by Jesus Christ. That would be one of His twelve disciples. That would be Nathanael {Bartholomew}. John 1:47 {Jesus saw Nathanael coming unto Him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile.} This is the only disciple that Jesus pointed out that way. I think that is interesting of all the disciples. As scripture says all men lie. It speaks strongly of his character. Of course all men are sinners and still must bring all our sins to the cross from which Jesus died and rose again paying for our sins. None of us is righteous in ourselves but only through Christ. God bless you all.
Where would we be if our great God was not a forgiving God? How blessed we are that He is not One who counts our sin against us, yet calls us to confess to recognize our responsibility in it, but then provides power to overcome it. And He is our hiding place and provides songs of deliverance. Did that verse cause anyone else to sing the song? And yet this God who is so forgiving is also the glorious and powerful God of the universe. He has created all and is above all and is aware of all! And that same power that created the world also controls it. The nations think they have prerogative and power, but God thwarts their plans and establishes His own that no one can change. The minute people are doing things that appears to be independent of Him, He uses their actions in His own plans. And with a God who has displayed so much glory, we are wise to follow and come under His power and His provision. Great hope we have in Him!
Psalm 32-33
Yes, Pastor, we should sing that song in church soon. We used to sing it in a 3 part round….beautiful.
My thoughts exactly…and I forgot about singing it in a round…
