Psalms 30-31 (NIV)
A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple.
Of David.
Of David.
1 I will exalt you, Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
2 Lord my God, I called to you for help,
and you healed me.……Continue Reading
Psalms 30-31
David although giving a dedication at the house of the Lord is including personal information in his prayer. It seems that he was healed from almost dying. It seems that he is referring about sickness. But we also know that when he was fighting his enemies; he would be leading his people so he may have come close to death that way. There was also the many times that king Saul tried to kill him. David was a sinner like we are. He committed murder by killing Uriah sending to the front of the battle so his {David} sin wouldn`t be found out. Or so he thought. He had laid with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah. Or his pride in taking a census of the people when God caused a pestilence among the people killing 70,000 men. All as a result of his sin. Here he chose God`s punishment because God is merciful and mankind isn`t. Anyways we don`t really know what he was referring to but he did sin. Psalm 30:5 and 2 Sam. 24:14b; 1 Chron. 21:13. But he didn`t leave it at that. He continued to seek the Lord with humility repenting of his sins and drawing closer to the Lord. He was known as a man after God`s own heart. He learned to trust in the Lord throughout his life. He is given as an example to us to come before the Lord even as we have failed as Christians to live the way God wants us to live. The Bible doesn`t sugar coat anything but tells us how the people in the Bible were. Both their good and their bad. We are no different. We do have the Holy Spirit living in us to lead and guide us. We also have the whole word of God where they didn`t. Let us not grow weary when we are being attacked but look to Him who is ever present with us.

Psalms 30-31
22 For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.
23 Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints!
For the LORD preserves the faithful,
And fully repays the proud person.
24 Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD.
”Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.“
Psalms 31:24 NKJV
Life can throw us some challenging circumstances and difficult people, but we can always turn to God in the hardest of times and He is faithful to listen and answer. He always knows and cares what is going on and welcomes us to cast our cares upon Him. With Him there is always a light at the end of the trouble. And even when our enemies seem strong, God is stronger still. It is also Psalms like these that give us permission to sick God on our enemies and trust Him for how He will deal with them. And when we know there is nothing He can’t do to harm them, frustrate them or turn their plans upside down, we can be at rest with whatever He chooses to do and take comfort that He is a place of refuge and solace until His deliverance comes.
