  1. Well chapter 14 is picture of the world…hard to find people like those David speaks of in chapter 15. It is a beautiful picture of how we should come before God.

  2. Humankind is summarized in chapter 14 and we are definitely found wanting. Where would we be without the sacrifice of Jesus through whom our sinfulness and rebellion are forgiven and we are given access to God. So we have the righteousness through Him to have the access to God spoken of in Psalm 15. And in addition given the power and the example to be the kind of people God wants to be as well. What a great picture of the things we should be that will only enhance our fellowship with God and the blessing we will be to people.

  3. Psalm 14 – What a picture of today, backs turned against God because they think they can do it better on their own. 15 is a reminder of how we need to remember to use our tongues in a way that is fruitful and not hurtful.

  4. Is this the “total depravity” scripture in Psalm 14? I get that we are all depraved, and in desperate need of God’s mercy. We all sin, but I think this is hyperbole. He does say, “no not one,” but then He also says, “For God is with the generation of the righteous.” So….there must be at least the chance that someone is righteous or even a generation of the righteous….not righteousness leading to salvation, but perhaps trying to do right by God. I actually have a running doc on my computer of people in the Bible who are called righteous.

  5. 1The fool says in his heart, Romans 3 as well…
    “There is no God.”
    They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
    there is no one who does good.
    2The Lord looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
    to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
    3All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.
