Wisdom’s Call
1 Does not wisdom call out?
Does not understanding raise her voice?
2 At the highest point along the way,
where the paths meet, she takes her stand;
3 beside the gate leading into the city,
at the entrance, she cries aloud:...........Continue Reading

  1. Wisdom comes from fear of the Lord obedience to the Lord and drawing near and hearing the Lord. God help me to walk in your wisdom every day!

  2. In both these chapters wisdom is lauded and how valuable it is. The capacity to make proper assessments and decisions is worth it’s weight in gold. There are successful people who are foolish and reap the negative consequences of their folly and there are poor people who are wise who reap the positive benefits of their wisdom. I love the pictures in both chapters of wisdom putting herself out there, along the byways where people are, up high where people can see. She is calling out and all who want her can find her if they will apply themselves to instruction and to God’s Spirit. God is the source of wisdom and so fearing Him is the beginning of it because we must first understand that He knows what is right and best and we don’t. And oh the benefits that come from wisdom: peace within and peace without, knowing who you are and whose you are, knowing what is right and true, being able to care for people without caring what people think of you, being properly related to the past, the present and the future, accepting where you have been and knowing where you are going….and the list goes on and on. So get wisdom….though it cost you everything you have, get understanding. There’s nothing better…..

  3. 32“Now then, my children, listen to me;
    blessed are those who keep my ways.
    33Listen to my instruction and be wise;
    do not disregard it.
    34Blessed are those who listen to me,
    watching daily at my doors,
    waiting at my doorway.
    35For those who find me find life
    and receive favor from the Lord.
    36But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
    all who hate me love death.”

  4. 10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
    and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
    11For through wisdom your days will be many,
    and years will be added to your life.
    12If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
    if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
