  1. Psalm 108 & 109 in 108 David praised the Lord for his faithfulness and he prayed for victory with God.
109 David is angry and he is telling God how wicked and evil men are attacking him with words of hate. He wants God to be swift in his judgment on these evil people.

  2. David is speaking and singing among the nations. He is proclaiming God`s greatness and mercy. Latter in verse 13 he is aware that through God those that trust in Him will do valiantly for God will thread down their enemies. This is in Psalm 108 but then in Psalm 109 he is like many of us that want God to destroy our enemies without any mercy. But this is not how God works. He does things according to His own timing and will. Can you remember any of David`s sins in the Bible/ How merciful God was to him and yet he was considered a man after God`s heart. Of course not for his sins but his desire to know and walk with God. David and many others in the Bible are there to teach us how to walk with Christ. We fail so often but thanks be to God that He wants the best for us. Praise be to God for He will give us victory in our daily walk with Him.

  3. How worthy God is of praise and how great is His power and how extensive His love…higher than the heavens. How steadfast our hearts are when we know and trust in Him! How natural it is that we would sing and tell of His goodness and powerful works. We have seen how He has worked on our behalf and how good He is. May we look to Him and trust Him! Even when it comes to dealing with our enemies. How nice it is to be able to bring difficult people before God and let Him decide how He will deal with them. David prays some pretty harsh stuff on his enemies that we should be careful to not let resonate in our hearts. It is important to love our enemies and yet also be able to bring them before God for His will and justice to prevail. I like where David says that in the presence of their accusation, he is a man of prayer. May we also continue to live in a way in the presence of our enemies that warrant God’s favor to be upon us. His presence, protection, provision and love for us should be the things that matter and the things that sustain us, not the treatment of people. But if God is to act, I like David’s prayer in verse 27…let them know it is by Your hand, that the Lord has done it. It is difficult to have someone relentlessly be against you, but it is comforting to have God by your side in His comfort, His justice and His power.

  4. When the psalmist wakes up in the morning, he makes music to God and sings of his love and faithfulness. What a great way to start the day having the joy of the Lord in our minds and the assurance that he will be victorious over all our enemies.
