  1. Psalm110. Knocks out any argument that Jesus was just a great human being. He was Lord. And God in flesh. And Jesus is the one to destroy the wicked verses 2-6. Psalm 111. Great psalm praising the Lord looking forward seems like the psalms to come are in the same frame of praise. How we should speak as our words come from our heart

  2. I totally agree Mark with your statement. It is very clear that Jesus is who He says He is for Jesus Himself refers to this scripture and then Paul the Apostle. In Melodye`s Bible it references these two portions of scripture. Matthew 22;43-46 and Acts 2;29-36. Then in Psalm 111 he is praising the Lord with all his heart for all His works , His power , and judgements. Everything that He does is done in truth and uprightness for He also sent redemption to His people. The last verse in this chapter is a important verse for us. [ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do His commandments; His praise endureth for ever.] Verse 10. The wisdom of God is what we need not man`s wisdom for it is foolish to God. People that walk in man`s wisdom think that those that walk in God`s wisdom are foolish but we should only care what God thinks. 1 Corinthians 2;14 [ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.] Thanks to God that He revealed and brought us to Him.

  3. Psalm 110:5 stood out to me as it states he will crush kings on the day of his anger. In the conflict of respecting leaders who do evil things in this world, this verse helps me to remember that Justice belongs to God and the time for evil leaders to be brought to Justice will come. I also appreciate the comments above! Great points of the Lord being who he says he is and I find so much peace in that.

  4. Jesus uses Psalm 110:1 to challenge the Pharisees and ask them who David is referring to here. God is talking to someone who is David’s Lord who also can sit at God’s right hand. Therefore it is not outlandish for Jesus to claim to be equal with God because verses like this in the Old Testament reveal that God is both One and distinct in different persons. The rest of the Psalm also points to what God is providing for One who is like His Son in providing victory for Him. And God declares about this One, that He will be a priest in the order of Melchizedek. SO the Lord who will also be a priest….One who represents God to the people and the people to God. Just like Jesus again!

And what a God our God is, accomplishing works that point to His glory and power and care for us. How wise we are to remember His work, to recognize how well He has provided for us. Sin always points to something outside of God’s will to provide for our needs and desires. Obedience is believing that God knows better and is able to provide better as well. That’s why He has shown us His works and revealed His faithfulness to us through them. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because it is only through recognizing God’s superiority over us that allows us to perceive and understand things in the right way. To think of things outside of that reality is foolish, because any paradigm that does not include God, the creator and sovereign, is wrong and defies the reality of what we observe on the outside and even on the inside as well.

  5. The Lord tells Jesus to sit at his right hand while he makes his enemies a footstool for his feet. Jesus states this quote when he asks, “whose son is the Messiah?” And when the Lord makes a promise, he will not change his mind. He is gracious and compassionate; he remembers his covenant forever. So, we can trust and believe what he says in his Word wholeheartedly. If we want to have wisdom and understanding, we must have reverence towards him, for he is Master of all creation, and follow his instruction in the Bible.
