Psalm 10-12 (NIV)

1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart;
he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.……Continue Reading

  1. The wicked seem to be blessed while the righteous suffer. But it is only for a little while. For the wicked all they truly care about is their worldly possessions even if they love their families. But it comes down to themselves and how they can out do others. The me generations. But for a godly Christian our focus should be on living for Christ. This means that our worldly possessions don`t count for anything unless we are blessing others with what God has blessed us with. We can`t take anything with us so why don`t we give to others that have needs. God wants us sharing Him with unbelievers and demonstrating His love. But also demonstrating His love to other believers.

  2. Here are a few scriptures for my comments. John 2:15,16. { Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.} John 13:34,35. { A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.} And of course to add to my earlier comments. God is ALL KNOWING and sees everything that the wicked are doing. Nothing gets past Him and there will be eternal punishment for them unless they believe in Jesus and turn to Him. As Nineveh turned to God and repented of their sins as evidence of their faith after Jonah preached. God bless my brothers and sisters.

  3. How evil is the heart of man. When unrestrained by the Word and Spirt of God, it is preoccupied with self, pleasure and running over anything or anyone that prevents its needs being satisfied. His thoughts and actions are evil and harmful to those who can be victimized for his satisfaction. He cares nothing about the things of God. And yet God will deal with them in His righteousness and justice and He will be the defender of those who they take advantage of. How comforting it is to have God as our refuge, to be able to turn to Him in our time of need. I couldn’t help but think of how much more evil and danger there is in cities where greater concentrations of people often bring greater evil. And yet nothing escapes God’s observation and His intervention when the time is right. But as we wait patiently for God to move against our enemies, we still have Him as our comfort and refuge, an ever present help in times of trouble….

  4. Father to the fatherless, refuge, and defender. These are aspects of God I have felt so personally in my life.

  5. The wicked man doesn’t think God or anyone else knows what he is doing, so he continues doing it. “He says to himself, “God will never notice; nothing will ever shake me. But God sees it all, and he cares about the people being affected. In his perfect time, he says “that’s enough!”, and he pours out his justice for all to see. God is our strength and our defense.

  6. In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain…”
    I will not run away from my troubles, for the Lord will deliver me from them all.
