Psalm 94 (ESV)
The Lord Will Not Forsake His People
1 O Lord, God of vengeance,
O God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
repay to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?...........Continue Reading

  1. 22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
God must be our foundation, our refuge, for us to stand with Him against the things this world will throw at us.

  2. Psalm 94:7 (ESV)
and they say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.”

The world today and yes, even the church adopts a similar view of God and morality. This is foolishness because as the psalmist writes in verse 10, he who forms the eye sees, he who formed the ear does hear. God will discipline.

    Psalm 94:19 (ESV)
When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

This brings tears of gratitude to my eyes. Indeed Lord, just as in days of old, even today in my life your consolations cheer my soul! O merciful God, I am forever thankful for your unfailing love.

  3. What a privilege it is to know the God of the heavens, the authority over all the earth who is also the lover of our souls! How good to know that He is not only in control of all things, He sees and hears and decides the fitting response to the sins of man. Although it may seem that evil is winning, it never really is. God’s judgements are based in righteousness and we are wise to follow it regardless of what ours or others opinions might be. Where would we be if God did not give us help? Where would we be if He did not steady my foot when it is slipping? What a relief that when our anxiety is great, His consolation brings joy to our soul? God is willing to be our refuge if we would only run to Him and be the people God calls us to be…

  4. 17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
    your consolations cheer my soul.

22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
