Psalm 93 (ESV)
The Lord Reigns
1 The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting...........Continue Reading

Psalm 93 It is quite evident that the King of Kings and all his majesty compares to nobody, no Being, no entity. An individual after reading this knows where they stand in THE LORDS world, and what is expected of them.
Selah The Lord is mightier than all the power the ocean sustains. I think of my walk on the beach after a violent storm. The Ocean tossed huge rocks about like they were sand in the wind. God is mightier and worthy of praise.
“Be still and know that I am God. “This is what comes to mind after reading Psalm 93. Our sovereign God reigns. Glory be to God!
4 Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!
I love this picture of God as mightier than water….water has such power to move, to power, to change things and He is in control and mightier than the water
God has made Himself evident in creation and we learn things about Him from what we see. The earth is firm and established, and He is firm and established! The waters are powerful and can destroy everything in it’s path. The God who has said, you can go this far and no farther to the great oceans and seas is mightier still. How marvelous are the things He has created, and yet, by definition He must be more marvelous still!
Amen!
In our democratic world, we do not fully appreciate these words which recognize that God reigns as the eternal king.
I wonder what the psalmist means when he says that the world is established? It certainly does not mean that the earth is stationary and everything revolves around it. It speaks to the stability of God’s creation because God himself and his ‘throne’ is stable.
God’s decrees are trustworthy (vs 5) yet do I walk in obedience to His word? If I am truthful with myself, I would say not always. Notice how his trustworthy decrees result in righteous living.
Our Sovereign Lord!!
1 The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
