Proverbs 8 (NIV)
Wisdom’s Call
1 Does not wisdom call out?
Does not understanding raise her voice?
2 At the highest point along the way,
where the paths meet, she takes her stand;……Continue Reading
The importance and the accesibility of wisdom are what I take away from this chapter. More valuable that gold, silver, or rubies, wisdom is the knowledge of the truth of God. It should be what we pursue and what we desire above all else. Personafied as a person here, she speaks to everyone and wants to be known by everyone. She is not coming to just the scholars, the powerful, or the rich. The very same wisdom that God used to create the heavens and the earth is being offered to us if we just choose to listen and accept it. And it is clear that a life lived with wisdom of God is far better than one lived in ignorance of Him.
Proverbs 8
Wisdom was before everything. Wisdom gives explicit instruction and truth how we should speak and act to find peace joy. We have always had everything we needed to succeed in life.Wisdom, the most important
Proverbs 8
I enjoyed the ‘visual commentary’ having scrolled to the very end of todays reading of Pvbs 8.
Wisdom is a choice and it’s been around forever. When Adam & Eve ate the forbidden fruit ….. we have seen how wisdom was rejected from the very beginning of time by choice. Wisdom takes strength but well worth the outcome.
To gain wisdom by being tested through the trials of life to be seasoned by our God More precious than silver or gold. To be able to share and guide our children and grandchildren. To meet a stranger and speak with wisdom and catch his attention pointing them towards a loving God. True wisdom: listen to me Blessed are those who keep my ways. That’s the exact reason. Many in leadership position today sound like fools
To continue. Because they care nothing about a God who says ask for wisdom and it will be granted unto you. A prayer we should ask daily. Went to the ymca yesterday met a man I hadn’t seen in a long time. He told me I was instrumental in leading him into a relationship with Jesus. Honestly don’t remember our conversations being that deep. Without wisdom from above. No chance this would happen. Would not exchange wisdom for anything. Surprised it’s not a fruit of the spirit. Grew up in a household with siblings with high IQ,S. Then there was me. Soon after my baptism of the Holy Spirit. Siblings were awestruck at the wisdom that I was now speaking. Impossible without an influx of the Holy Spirit. Not of me. Great reminder today. To ask for wisdom everyday.
Proverbs 8
Wisdom and understanding are so much greater than anything else we could possibly imagine having on this earth. God provides us wisdom when we remain in the Spirit, in the Word, and in fellowship with Him. Ask and we shall be given the wisdom and insight that God wishes for us, just like King Solomon!
Proverbs 8
“for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
Proverbs 8:11 NIV

Proverbs 8
We all need to have the wisdom that only God can give. That is why we need to ask for it. He will give it if we ask. Like Mark, I can relate. My brother and sister had high IQ,s. Then there was me. They at high school wouldn`t even tell me my IQ. I did gradate in 1972 from Pilgrim. But when I trusted Christ, He gave me His wisdom. I only had to ask. Draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you. Find time to read His word and pray to Him.
Wisdom, knowledge tempered by and applied to experience, is priceless. How valuable it is to know what to think about God, to know what to think about ourselves and others and be able to make good decisions. They are all things that wisdom offers and wisdom beckons all in the world to understand and be informed by her. God had wisdom when He made the world and He makes it available to us. Fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because it is in that that we realize that God is the One who has the wisdom that we need. He gave us His word and His Spirit to give us regular access to wisdom and yet in addition promises if we need it, all we need do is ask for it. May we all be wise and press into what wisdom has to offer us.
Wisdom is : truth, knowledge, discretion, sound judgement, insight, power, righteousness, justice. It was present when the world was created, rejoicing in the works of the Lord. And God will give it to us, all we have to do is ask! “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5) Those who listen to the voice of wisdom are blessed and receive favor from the Lord. It is more precious than any wealth we could ever aquire, may we strive to apply it in all that we do.
Proverbs 8
12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And find out knowledge and discretion.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, I have strength.
It is interesting to think of wisdom predating the creation of the earth. Makes me think of time before time with wisdom participating with the Godhead.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
It is also interesting to think of the opposite of wisdom – foolishness, sin, ignorance, simple. Wisdom is to be pursued…how? I don’t think like a college degree or a science experiment, but a deep dive into the Spirit and the word.
”For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”“
Proverbs 8:35-36 NKJV
