  1. Ps. 46 does not promise that ‘God is on our side’…rather it promises that God is ‘with us’. And contrary to what we often think or are told, this means not ‘arming’ ourselves but ‘disarming’ ourselves.
Rest in the Lord, the King of the earth…our assurance and protector.

  2. Our Holy God reigns on high upon His throne. There is no one greater than the God who created everything. He alone is in control. We should never fear for He is always there with us. He will work everything out for our good. Even when bad things are happening around us. For God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1,2. What we need to do is come before Him in stillness and remember who He is that He has us in the palm of His hand. vs 10. We can get so caught up in our troubles that we are not remembering that He is right there with us. We should especially during these times sit back and listen to Him. He only knows. Sometimes He will only come to us in a still small voice. We have to be calm to hear it. 1 Kings 19:12. When God spoke to Elijah in a still small voice. May the Lord bless you all.

  3. Our great God reigns on high and yet is also our refuge and strength, as He comes to mankind with a relationship that secures us in His person and plan. What security that affords us as we face the vagaries of life and the instability that is often in our fallen world. To know that we can be still and know that He is God is priceless. And not only to know that He is God, but to know that He is the kind of God He is…who loves and cares for us and only wants the best for us.

  4. Sometimes we just need to be still and stop doing, stop trying to figure everything out, stop fretting, stop worrying and surrender all to God. Be still and know..God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help in trouble.

  5. ”God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah“
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Thinking about the word “refuge”, a shelter, a place of safety and protection. Amidst even the craziest chaos, waters raging, mountains cast into the midst of the sea, the earth moving, God is our refuge. Applied to our non-physical chaos, it should be easy….er to take refuge in the Lord. Looking forward to Pastor’s teaching on anxiety. 😬

  6. Do not fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround us—those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches. Because God will REDEEM us from the realm of the dead; he will surely take us to himself. And they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not DESCEND with them.
