Reading along with us in some selections from Psalms and Proverbs? Here’s today’s reading:
Proverbs 21 (NIV)
1 In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water
that he channels toward all who please him.
2 A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
3 To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart—
Proverbs 21
Thank You lord I don’t have a nagging quarrelsome wife. It’s too cold to be on the corner of the roof. There’s wisdom in every verse Amazing how much wisdom is written in this book
Proverbs 21
To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21
1st Kings
The righteous God wisely considers the house of the wicked,
Overthrowing the wicked for their wickedness.
Here are the ones that jumped out at me: “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” “In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.” “He who loves pleasure will become poor, whoever loves wine and oil will never be rich.” “He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity”
Selah!
