1 The wise woman builds her house,
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
2 Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly,
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.……Continue Reading

  1. I always take to heart the consistent warnings in Proverbs about what we both say and listen to. Words are important and sinful words are deceitful. The world will come in and tell you what you (or your prideful, sinful self) want to hear to make your life easier or to give in to your urges and desires. You see it most often when people twist the Bible to make a sin seem acceptable or even respectable in certain contexts or situations. If we are sinning we would rather hear a justification for that sin instead of the truth of the Gospel telling us that it will be hard but we must turn from whatever that sin is. We need to be discerning and always listening to God FIRST and then it will be easier for us to avoid the lies, mistruths, and deceptions of this world trying to lead us astray.

  2. Every one of these is like gold. they’re all so good . As I read each one, I just pondered it for a little while . like 12. there is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death . and then when you read the footnotes on this It really makes you think. Thanks be to Jesus he makes us new , and redeems our past present and future.

  3. Proverbs is so full of the ways to follow God. Either we can choose to walk in His wisdom and be blessed or we can decide to follow the ways of the world and end up destroying our life`s. Even in this chapter we are taught to walk in God`s wisdom and to avoid the fleshly ways. We are so prone to walk in our flesh and not listen to the One that lives inside of us. That would be the Holy Spirit. Until Christ came and rose again, believers of old time didn`t have that help. Only in rare occasions did anyone have the Spirit of God. Such ways as Prov. 14:29 that God tells us to be slow to get angry and we will show understanding. Often, when a person gets angry it is in the flesh and probably not righteous anger which Christ had when He turned the money changes tables over. When as believers will we ever learn. But there is hope, for God is also willing to change us as we walk with Him. God bless.

  4. I find it very hard to comment on the Proverbs because so many hit you right between the eyes. How wise we will become if we follow the principles here and set said the wisdom that the world proposes, and recognize in our hearts when we are being deceived. Then, when we are wise we will act objectively, caring more about the truth than what we or others think. And we will reap the rewards that come from wisdom and righteousness and avoid all the pitfalls that come from folly.

  5. Proverbs 14
The longer I live, the more I recognize the wisdom of the proverbs. I pray that our youth will recognize them sooner than I did!

  6. Walk in the way of the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Walk in the way of wickedness and foolishness, and you will reap the consequences of your behavior.
