  1. This is such an amazing reading. How Jesus did not fit in a box, the pharisees almost did not know what to do with him.. but since he seemed too familiar he couldn’t be the Savior, he just needed to go.. I love the ‘rivers of living water’ part.. It’s so true even or especially when the rubber meets the road..

  2. We are all in need of forgiveness and so it only makes sense that we would forgive in the same way that we have been forgiven. And what an affirmation that a prophet is not honored in his own town, Jesus is not honored by His own siblings. But it is interesting to see an interaction between them, but clearly, they do not get what Jesus is all about. They think it is just about fame and notoriety, but Jesus is on a very different mission, directed by God and not by any human. And it is hard to imagine that people were torn about what to think about Jesus. But with the Jewish leaders having a negative opinion, you can understand that others may as well, in spite of all the miraculous things Jesus did and the wisdom that He shared. But Jesus makes it clear who He is and that He is directed by His Father and speaks the words that come from Him. And He challenges them with their unbelief showing that we too should explain what is faulty in people’s thinking and declare what truth comes from God.

  3. ”However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from.” Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.” Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come. And many of the people believed in Him, and said, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these which this Man has done?”“
    ‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭27‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sometimes I wonder why no one asked Jesus or his parents where he was born, or about how they ended up in Nazareth.
