Proverbs 16
How important it is that our plans line up with the Lord’s, because it is His way that will established in our lives anyway. And it is far better to have His way, wisdom, righteousness and self control than much of what the world has to offer in success, popularity or wealth. And any good leader follows a path that is right and is gladdened when others follow the right path as well. It is the righteous who will see things correctly, and the wicked who will be blinded by their own pride and folly. There is so much wisdom to be found in the proverbs….

There may be a way that appears right to us, but if we don’t commit that way to the Lord it could lead to disappointment and failure. Let us strive to be patient people, waiting on the Lord for guidance and direction. For it’s better to have self control than to be as strong as a warrior who captures a city. And the Lord takes pleasure in honesty, integrity and truth. He values one who speaks what is right. So we must always be honest with people, or they will not believe what we tell them and we will not be taken seriously.

Wisdom…so important. More inmportant than silver and gold. But we don’t just become wise. We need to spend a great deal of time listening, learning, watching, and following. Others that have gone before have made the mistakes and learned the lessons, but like children often we need to make them again for ourselves before we really learn. We must be humble, patient, and show self control and lean into God and listen to His plans and His purpose for our lives….that is where true wisdom comes in.
