Jesus is about to establish the most important event in human history. Nothing comes close. And the apostles are arguing who is going to be the greatest among them. Do our concerns yesterday or our concerns a year ago matter? Put your hand to the plow and don’t look back like lots wife. Satan asked to sift Peter like wheat and then blow him away. Would love to do the same for us. BUT JESUS. Did not die and now resting in heaven. He is interceding on our behalf handing our prayers and protection to our Father in heaven. Always!!!!! I am with you ALWAYS until the end of this age. Let that sink in every day!!
This morning, reminds me that in the world kingdom as you gain success and climb the ladder, you do less you rest more and sit back and let others serve you, but in God‘s kingdom, the more you get involved, the more you are called to serve others
Lent 2025 – Day 15
Day 15
Its kinda funny to think about how the apostles minds are working during this time. Here is Jesus telling them about this new covenant and essentially telling them He needs to die to establish it and they are more worried about which one of them is the most important and who will or will not deny Jesus after He is gone. That is sadly how our mind works, even in the midst of serious situations with family or friends we are wondering where do I fit in? how will this affect me? We are selfish by nature and Satan loves to get us in places where that part of us is being entertained because it takes our eyes off of God and the sacrifice He made for us. Jesus set an example for a pattern of behavior that is humble servant even when He was clearly the most important one in the room so we need to learn to curb that pride and remember the honor it is to die to self daily and to serve others!
Lent Day 15
Love one another as I have loved you. The world will recognize you by how you love one another.
Lent Days 13-15
Lent 2025 – Day 15
Jesus predicts Peter’s betrayal. Despite his failure and faith and ability to stand, Jesus knows his heart. The flesh is so weak. Thank you Jesus for sending your HolySpirit to give us strength and power.
Jesus reinstated Peter : “Feed My sheep.”
I misplaced my Life of Jesus book while on vacation and found it halfway through. So I have been reading along, but will pick up here. What a powerful picture Jesus provides for us here of the sacrifice He will make and the need that we have to engage with it in order to receive its benefit. How meaningful is a new covenant established by God after the jews had seen how committed God was to the old one. And as an essential part of that covenant was the sacrifice of Jesus, the disciples show in their argument of who is the best that they just don’t get it. But Jesus shows patience here to teach and show that it is the one who serves who is the most important. So contrary to how the world thinks. And the greatest way to serve is that we would show love for one another. The surest mark that we are followers of Jesus. And there is no better path to follow than to walk in His ways. But we all stumble and in spite of our best intent and desire and commitments to do otherwise, don’t do what we know we should. We can be glad we serve a God of grace and we can let that grace draw us to better behavior and not worse.
Jesus was betrayed by someone close to him in the worst way possible, his “friend” led him to an agonizing death. He allows it to happen because he knows that it is necessary for our salvation. However, he was very troubled about it. And it will not end well for Judas.
