  1. 6 Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.

Finally a king that just stayed the course, obeyed God and finished strong! He was able to see that walking with God was the way to go for his own good and the good of Judah.
Unfortunately, it did also say that the people continued corrupt practices so not everyone was on board with obedience to God but at least they were being lead by someone who was trying to keep them on the narrow path!

  2. It is good to see a king of Judah who follows God whole heartedly throughout his reign. It is unfortunate that the people do not follow in the same way as well as his reign being fairly short. It is a further reminder for us to persevere in faith and obedience.

  3. Jotham follows the ways of the Lord. It is interesting that Uzziah is still given credit for doing “right in the sight of the Lord” in his son’s entry. Jotham learned from his father’s mistake. Too bad about the people.
