  1. I love where it says “as it turned out” describing Ruth gleaning in Boaz’s field. We can see God’s hand all over it, working through the circumstances of people’s lives. Boaz is a kind man and Ruth is a diligent worker both laudable traits to follow. Boaz does a lot to help Ruth, but Ruth also does her part. And Naomi is benefited as well and she explains to Ruth just who Boaz is to her. She is her close relative and thereby would have a responsibility to take care of Ruth and even marry her. So the plot is unfolding which causes us to look forward to see how God will work it out through the circumstances of life in the next chapter.

  2. God has not forsaken the two women but is working behind the scenes to bless them. He has led Ruth to go into a field not knowing who owns it. God has also prepared the heart of Boaz because he already had heard about the Moab woman that helped Naomi. Boaz is a man of good character and tells Ruth to stay with the women that work for him and gave instruction for the men that work for him to leave her alone. All for her protection. He goes even further by having the men dropping handfuls of barley for her. She is a hard worker and doesn`t realize how Boaz is blessing her. The end of the day she was successful. So, both Naomi and Ruth are blessed. Ruth listens to Boaz to stay in his fields for protection and Naomi`s wise instructions. God bless.

  3. Cool to see God working even when we do not realize it. “Pleasant surprise” or “Good luck” one might say but we know that is God’s hand in our lives, just like Ruth and Naomi. Often in the moment of blessing, especially when coming out of a rough patch, it takes us a beat to recognize God’s hand and remember that He has been there all along but when we do we have times of such joy and peace like these two women are sharing in this chapter!

  4. ”The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”“
    ‭‭Ruth‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
