  1. Paul sends his greetings ahead of him to those in the church at Rome that he knows and has had interaction with. May we have the kind of relationships found here as well as the heart for ministry and hard work that are commended. Paul then warns them about divisive people and encourages them and us to avoid them. It reenforces again the importance of unity amongst the church and doing what we can to foster it as opposed to tearing it down. He ends this powerful letter with a powerful benediction that further reminds us of the influence of Jesus Christ and all that God accomplished through Him on our behalf. Praise be to this wise God forever!

  2. It’s interesting reading this in light of chapter 14 and 15, being like minded, bearing with differences of conviction, etc. I think Satan is using so many things to divide…things that may even sound good are used for evil purposes, so that even Christians are divided.

“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”
