Psalms 98-99 (NIV)
A psalm.
1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
I feel especially close to God when I sing his praises. Some songs bring me to tears as the words make me feel especially close to Him. He is father, Son, and Holy Spirit in One.
98:2 &3 assures me that no one on earth can ever say of God, “I didn’t know.” The flood of Noah was never forgotten, the global destruction was, is, known to all. Regardless, God saves, a fact known to all mankind!
99:1 The Lord reigns!…let the earth be moved. Suggest the Creator of all is “sovereign,” as we would say, and powerful to move the very earth. Incredible is our God! peace to all, Gordy
Certainly I am moved by music snd songs. Always been envious of those that could play instruments and sing. 6 grade nun had me get up and sing in church Sang pretty good. The next year. Voice changed and singing career over. My wife cries at most Christian songs. Music really touched her. It’s awesome to listen in the morning to Christian songs to set the day for worship. Psalm 99. Reminds me of I might not get moved as strong as others with song. But the expression of who God is In these psalms overwhelms me that I am able to come before the almighty God and call on him personally. I walk my dog in the morning and am brought to tears to think I am worthy to stand before the throne and cry Abba Father
Psalm 98-99
God loves it when we sing praises to Him. We not only honor Him but it also helps us in our spirit. Our whole being is affected in a good way when we sing His praises. I remember when I got saved I was always singing praises to Him. Sometimes we let the cares of the world bring us down spiritually. This is when we should be singing to Him the most because He does hear us. This doesn`t mean that we can`t grieve but we should still be joyful for we know that He cares about us and will help us through the hard times. Happiness is different than joyfulness. Believe me this is a constant surrender to the Lord for we must always have our eyes on Him. How quickly we can get distracted and take our eyes off of Him. In our house we try to listen to K-Love on the radio inside and outside. It helps us to focus on Him and not our problems. Melodye always has music on except when we are watching something. Sometimes I forget but Mel always tries to have it on. Thank God for God fearing wives who are as Pastor said as I recall more spiritual than we are. Knowing scripture is not the same as having relationships with God and fellow believers. [ 1 Corinthians 13; 1–13]. We could have many gifts as it says or do many things to help people but if we don`t have love we are nothing. We need Christ love flowing through us. [ 1 John 4; 7 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.] I know that Mel is far more in tune with people`s needs than I am. We should always be growing in the Lord. But music is one way that we can grow in the Lord.
How awesome it is that we have a God that reigns on high and is exalted in glory, power and authority and yet is compassionate and gracious to us. He remembers His love and faithfulness to His people and His salvation is known throughout the earth. It only makes sense that we would exalt Him in jubilant songs and shout for joy!!! He is worthy of new songs and He is the one who fills our praises with new life, new appreciation and new insights. And as we do that we join with creation who knows better than us how worthy He is. May our praises be even bigger than the rivers and mountains because we know where we have come from, where He has placed us and where we are going!
I love to worship and sing to God…glad it is all a sweet sound to Him despite our actual ability LOL
No matter how scared, anxious, angry, or emotional I may be feeling when I stop and just worship it puts my heart and mind’s focus back to where it should be.
Psalms 98-99
Praise the Lord for he is a great, loving God! He works out salvation for believers, he is faithful to them and he will be just and fair when he judges the people.
