our ancestors have told us

in days long ago.……Continue Reading

  1. It is truly a hard time when we feel like God is not in our corner and even in times when we think we are doing what we are supposed to be doing. You think of Job and when God allowed him to go through what he went through but again I remind myself that He is working in the waiting. God does nothing without a plan and in those times we dig deeper into Him and grow and accept and learn what He is teaching because we know it is for our betterment.

  2. As if on queue:
Psalm 44:1 “We have heard with our ears….”
8 “All thy garments smell of myrrh…”

    And most precious, I read,
45:6 Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

    This is Jesus.

  3. The scripture in 45:6 {Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.} is also referenced in Psalm 93:2 and Hebrews 1:8. And yes it refers to Jesus the King of kings and Lord of all. Psalm 93:2 {Thy throne is established of old; thou art from everlasting.} Hebrews 1:8 {But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy kingdom.} KJV. God bless you all.

  4. How difficult it is when God appears distant, especially in reference to other times, or in other people’s lives, that He seemed so present and active. It is even more difficult when we appear to be doing everything right. But God is always trying to build faith and character, where we become more dependent on Him, just for Who He is as opposed to what He does for us. So we must be prepared always to be still and know that He is God and He is fulfilling some purpose in us, for us and through us…all to His glory. It is times like that where we can more fully say it is about Him rather than about ourselves. And Psalm 45 is a royal psalm where the king of Israel is exalted in this context. As others, inspired by the Spirit, see these words apply to Jesus as well…..well that is more than fitting.
