do not let me be put to shame,

  1. It is funny that we come out of Saul’s story into Psalm 25 that really is the instructions on how Saul should have handled things! We need to surrender to God’s ways knowing that it is not our strength but His that will bring us victory of the battles in our lives.
The focus is not just our heart but our walk as well. God sees our inward thoughts as well as our outward actions and those should be consistent and both reflect God.

  2. This Psalm would be a great way to pray these days. Sometimes, I find myself discouraged by events around not only my own life, but the world in general. Also, sometimes, it feels easier to do things my own way without consulting God but this verse: “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way,” is teaching me to always be humble before God and seek His own way.

  3. What a privilege it is to have God in our lives. We can know He is with us and because of that we have power, protection and direction. He is our refuge and strength. He is with us in good times and bad. He is faithful when others are not. He is available to teach us His ways and have us established in them. How important it is for us to then respond in obedience, to come to Him with faith, humility and will so that our lives will be pleasing to Him. When we do that, God’s favor will be on us. It will not free us from problems or bad/mean people, but He will give us the means to manage them and respond in a way fitting for the situation and glorifying to Him.
