  1. Now in this chapter 9 Moses is giving instructions to Aaron and his sons and now it is Aaron that is fulfilling the office of High Priest. They are following the instructions and Aaron and his sons are offering a sin and burnt offering for themselves. And then having the people provide a sin and burnt offering for the congregation. There was also a grain offering provided. After this was all done in order God`s glory appeared and a fire came out from the Lord and consumed the burnt offering. And all the people shouted and fell on their knees. What an awesome sight to behold/ May God bless us.

  2. Aaron and his sons begin their priestly ministry and follow the dictates described in chapter 8. And God affirms the beginning of this crucial aspect of worshipping Him and making things right with Him by burning the offering and displaying His glory to the people. I can’t wait to be in the presence of that glory and have the commensurate reaction as the people have here, to bow before Him and worship!

  3. in the routine of the sacrifice process of Aaron and his sons, God makes the reason for all of this so known through His presence and through fire. Just a great reminder that they weren’t doing these things for some ceremony but rather for the God of all creation and power!

  4. Aaron does as instructed by Moses. The glory of the Lord appears to all the people and fire from the Lord consumes the offering.

This is not just a ritual, this is obedience and communion with the Living God!

Makes me think of times when God answers prayer, or provides miraculously, or even when I came to Christ….the “shock and awe” feeling from God. The people were overwhelmed.
