Psalms 19 (NIV)
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
Psalm 19
Psalms 19
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
– Romans 1:20
God’s glory is proclaimed by all the earth for us to see and hear.
Such a beautiful psalm reminding me to keep sticking with Jesus and keeping my eyes focused on Him. The first few verses are real to me as I’ve been observing the “heavens” recently due to crazy weather changes. Indeed, they reveal the might, the splendor, the majesty, the beauty and the fierceness of God..
What a great Psalm! One cannot say enough about the wonder, beauty and intelligence found in creation. The speech it declares is God is here and He is powerful, caring and really smart. Who can observe both the smallest and the greatest aspect of creation and not be in awe? And yet we are left speechless not only over creation, but also in regard to God’s Word. One cannot say enough about it’s ability to inform, transform, empower, enlighten and convict. We are wise to engage with it consistently. And Psalm 19:14 is one that I had committed to memory and is a standard we should all attain to….
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
14May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
