1 Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord
or fully declare his praise?
3 Blessed are those who act justly,
who always do what is right..............Continue Reading

  1. Psalm 106:44 reminds me that the Lord God may come down very hard on wayward Israel, but He always comes back to mercy upon them in afflictions.
    We need this kind of mercy. Sins of commission and sins of omission, too! Gordy

  2. We are not deserving of His mercy as we continue to fall back to sin as the Israelites did but yet He shows it to us anyway. Like a good Father, correcting and teaching and loving all the while!

  3. God kept saving Israel for His name`s sake. He was to show His great power to all the nations for a testimony of His salvation and who He is, that in time, all nations would come before Him and worship Him.

  4. Psalm 106 picks up where Psalm 105 leaves off recounting the history of Israel. A history that shows the goodness and glory of God and the disobedience of the Jews. God would consistently be merciful and save them and provide, and they would follow for a while, but then slip into disobedience. It is reflective of the independent and rebellious heart that is in each one of us and yet in Christ we can have victory as we believe and follow. We can learn from the poor example of the Jews that their waywardness never worked and only led to their destruction and their loss of God’s favor and the very possession that He had promised them. How blessed and victorious they would have been if they had believed and followed and truly would have been a display of God’s power and ability. May we do better and allow the praise of God to continue to transform our hearts and remember how worthy He is to be trusted and to be obedient on the behalf of. May our history be marked as well by God’s glory and goodness, but our faithfulness to Him too….

  5. When I read through the history of Israel, I can’t help but wonder how on earth they fell so far from the Lord. I suspect it is the lack of the Holy Spirit, but even now as I see “Christians” wander, completely forsaking God’s word and deciding in their own minds what is “good” or “righteous” or “loving”. Satan is a deceiver and it says in the end that his wiles would be so convincing, he could even deceive the elect if it were possible.

    “Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
    They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:”

    I know that I do the same (although, I’d like to think to a lesser extreme!) God answers a prayer and I thank Him and then forget what He did. I like to counsel myself by having a meditation session of giving Him thanks for anything I can remember and anything that is right before me!
    Thank you God for….baby goats, children walking with Lord and living peaceably with us, food, clothing, shelter, water, chickens, a husband who is alive!

  6. Let us always know that God is the One who saves us, who delivers us from the hand of the enemy. We must not forget what he has done for us, and patiently wait for his perfect plan to unfold. Let us not mingle with the world and adopt their beliefs. But when we do stray and fall into the hands of the wicked, God will hear our cry and out of his great love he will rescue us. “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!”
