Reading along with us through Psalm 61-70? Here’s today’s reading:

Psalm 69 (ESV)

Save me, O God!
    For the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in deep mire,
    where there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters,
    and the flood sweeps over me.
I am weary with my crying out;
    my throat is parched.
My eyes grow dim
    with waiting for my God.

More in number than the hairs of my head

  1. 16 Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good;
    according to your abundant mercy, turn to me.

    30 I will praise the name of God with a song;
    I will magnify him with thanksgiving❤️

  2. Certainly when people and circumstances are pressing in God is the one to turn to. It is very difficult to have enemies without cause and to face undeserved suffering. But it happens and God is the resource in it whether we seek justice, power, victory, judgement or consolation. And this Psalm expresses it all and the neat thing about our God is He is uniquely qualified to provide for it all and to accept and deal with the emotions that come up in us when we deal with the challenges of life, especially the we feel like things are overwhelming and we are about to be swallowed up. He is the one who hears, who cares and is able to solve! Glory to His name!

  3. 13 But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord.
    At an acceptable time, O God,
    in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.
