Psalm 41 (NIV)

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
2 The Lord protects and preserves them—
they are counted among the blessed in the land—
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.……Continue Reading

  1. It is hard when those we care about hurt us. David experienced that and you feel his heartache in this chapter. We also know God is always here to bring us peace and comfort. He never leaves or forsakes us and so we are never alone in our pain. Thank you God for being ever present in my life even in my darkest hours.

  2. Psalm 41:4 I need God’s mercy, my soul needs His healing, I sinned against God.

    Friends, so that you can know me….because some of my posts may seem odd or out of place….I know I am not sinless. Romans 3, I John, but,

    I know for certain I can sin less, in fact, I am called to live without sin, Romans 6.

    And Jesus never ever tells me to do something beyond my will.

    Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, “Go and sin no more.”

    I believe, the sin that so easily beset her, was no more her burden, and her sin chains fell off. Proverbs 7 reversed!

    So, that’s the details I tend to seek in Scripture! -gy

  3. Well said Kelly. Thank God that we have a God full of compassion. For He is always there when we need Him. And yes, it is hard when others hurt us. But are we also guilty of hurting others. This is why we need short accounts with God and each other. Don`t let sin fester in your heart. Each day is a new day in the Lord. Make things right with each other and God. God bless.

  4. Oh yes, where would we be without God’s mercy and if God counted our sins against us. And when we extend that same mercy to the weak and vulnerable, then God grants special favor to us. How easy is it for us to take advantage of people like that or think of them as less than ourselves, but God gave us different gifts and abilities to see if they would either lead us to pride or humility. David is having his share of problems, with his enemies mocking and trying to take advantage of his weak state. And yet with God as our helper, we will always find a place of help and refuge. Because it only matters what He thinks of us, not what others think anyway.

  5. Psalm 41 it’s sad to think there are people out there who will try to bring you down more when you are weak, instead of lifting and encouraging they would rather speak falsely about you, but for those who have regard for the weak God will Bless them. God remains by our side always, Praise God for being there always.

  6. God answers the prayers of the people who are devoted to the task of caring for others who are weak, disadvantaged, depressed, and broken. He heals, he restores, and he gives strength back to them so they can continue their compassionate work in the name of the Lord. God is to be praised for taking care of these children of his. They are a tremendous blessing to the lives of those they minister to.
