  1. Well finishing Exodus and entering these Psalms David is singing to God exactly what we just saw happen. How quickly we turn from God but that He is a forgiving God and He protects the righteous. He will listen to the prayers of His people and reward the faithful and the obedient. We are not promised an easy path but we are so blessed to be able to call on His name and have assurance that He is there every step of it by our side.

  2. David has alot to say about enemies coming against him in these Psalms and what a comfort for all of us to know that God is a refuge when people come against us. God is there to comfort us as well as thwart the plans of the enemies and bring His power against them. He is also the judge of all and all will have to stand before Him. David relies on all these things and we can too. What a great pattern the Psalms establish for us that God has not promised a rose garden but He promises HIs presence, power and provision in all the different circumstances that we face. There is always a reason to praise, thank and rely on Him!

    1. Amen Dad. If only the divided country we’re in shared David’s values of God and his power, all the incumbent. We’d have a better country and world!

  3. A few verses that stick with me at this time….
    Psalm 4
    Be angry, and do not sin.
    Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah
    Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
    And put your trust in the Lord.

    I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
    For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

    Psalm 5
    Give ear to my words, O Lord,
    Consider my meditation.
    2 Give heed to the voice of my cry,
    My King and my God,
    For to You I will pray.
    3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
    In the morning I will direct it to You,
    And I will look up.

    Psalm 6 – I love how David reasons with God. “I can’t praise, remember and thank You if I’m dead.” Good point.
