Do not follow their practices. 4 You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God……Continue Reading

  1. Reading this chapter yesterday; I wasn`t going to make a comment. it is so wicked and perverse. Other nations were defiled because of all these wicked things and therefore cast judgement on them. Leviticus 18:24,25. {Defile not you yourselves in any of these things; for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you; And the land is defiled; therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.} We have been warned by God throughout scripture to walk with Him and not live as the world lives. This was why God passed judgement on the world and brought the great flood that covered the whole world. That being what we refer to as Noah`s flood. Which is a historical fact of history. Not a make believe story but historical fact with proof of evidence throughout the world. In fossils records, people throughout the world telling their histories of the great flood. So much more. God used nations and Israel to demonstrate His great power and rising nations or punishing nations as He deemed necessary including Israel to reveal their sin. With Israel; He kept sending prophets to tell them to repent and turn back to Him. Even during the New Testament times Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and others warned of these things. Romans 1:18-32 as one example. Look it up and you will see that he is saying the same things about the wickedness of man`s heart. He and other believers had to deal with this corruption during their time and now look at our world today. We are seeing how wicked man`s heart is if left to their devices. For without Christ look how wicked our nation as gotten and the whole world. In my time of 71 years; I have never seen such wickedness and how destructive it has been. But remember brothers and sisters God is in control and will bring about judgement just as He has promised and how He did in the past. When remember how God promised after Noah`s flood that He would never send a worldwide flood to destroy life and His promise was a rainbow. The final judgement on earth would be by fire. God is very patient and wants all men to come to repentance and to trust fully in Jesus. But that is mankind`s choice for by rejecting Christ they are rejecting their only hope of salvation and therefore sending themselves to Hell. They must come on His terms for He cannot have sin in His presence. Like always thinking that I am only going to make a short statement; God leads me to say more. Like I shared a few days ago; we when reading the Bible should always ask God for wisdom to understand His word and He will grant that request. He is so amazing! God bless you all. May we all continue to grow in Him.

  2. To add to my statement. We need to pray for Revival in our country and in the world. Pray for our leaders in government that many will turn to Christ and have a Biblical worldview and not a humanistic worldview. Not that government is the answer; but it is a changed heart in Christ that is. Many of our founding fathers were Christian but some were not; but they all had that Biblical worldview. And our nation was blessed. We are not to be passive as believers but are to be praying and sharing about Christ. Some should be lead to get involved in government but all of us need to be praying and talking about our Savior. We all have our employment in different jobs but we all represent Christ no matter where we are. I may not work for someone now but I always asked Jesus to represent Him in deeds and speech. The companies that I worked for knew who I was for I wasn`t shy about sharing Christ. By the way; not my boldness but Christ in me. I was not an out going person but quiet. So no excuses. Whatever we lack; He will provide as we speak about Him. I am sure that many of you have found this to be true. But this is more directed toward young believers in the Lord. Nether the less; we can all continue to learn and grow in Christ Jesus. One other note as sharing Christ while working for someone. I did it during breaktime and not on company time. Also to be ready for questions they might have. Also our witness as hard workers with a joyful heart as unto the Lord no matter the task. Col. 3:23 {And whatsoever ye do; do it heartily as to the Lord, and not to men.} Col.4:5,6 {Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how ye ought to answer every man.} God bless you all.

  3. SO. Leviticus 18 we would all agree with all verses as a nation with exception to verse 22. Written three thousand five hundred years ago. United States been around for 250years. And we say that lifestyle is acceptable. God is the same yesterday today and forever. Can’t change what is unnatural. Another tactic the enemy masquerade as an angel of light using to destroy human beings and families. Personally witnessed someone very close to me struggle with this and taking their life. There is no way you can engage in this lifestyle and lay your head down to sleep with peace. Impossible!!!.

  4. Do not uncover the nakedness of…..
No sexual contact or shameful exposure within the family…or with another’s wife. I suppose this extends to anyone who is not your spouse…because lust and adultery are wrong too.

”(for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.“
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭18‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I wonder what it means that the land is defiled. I’m thinking our land is defiled and might vomit soon.

  5. Two things jumped out at me in the chapter. The first is God prefacing his instructions by saying don’t do like the other nations. He doesn’t say that often, therefore highlighting the pervasive nature of sexual sin and how warped it becomes outside of the instruction of God. The second was how all the rules save one are given from the man’s perspective, ie commands about what he shouldn’t do. Naturally it doesn’t mean it doesn’t translate to women in the same contexts spoken of. But it does point to the greater temptation often in man to stray sexually and the greater vulnerability of a woman/girl to be taken advantage of in many of the relationships here.

And now more generally with regards to the chapter is how benefitted societies are by following these rules and what destruction and perversion happens when they don’t. As our society deteriorates morally and rejects God and His standards, one wonders how many of these things that, as Mark says, we would agree are wrong, will one day be validated as ok or even good. We have certainly seen that with homosexuality. Which of the principles in this chapter will fall next….one can only wonder…
