  1. The clean and the unclean, what may not be eaten. A lot of this makes sense when you think of bacteria and disease and unseen contaminants, and perhaps cooking habits. I do like lobster. 🦞 I’m glad Peter got the vision of the sheet declaring animals clean. Although I’m content not to eat bugs or mice or snakes.

  2. Rules are given here as to what is ok to eat and what is not. Much can be said about how unhealthy the restricted animals are and thereby God is protecting the Jews’ health in what he commands. We should not be surprised by that, of course. But I also thought of the fact that God created every animal for particular purposes, and some of those purposes were too important or unclean for these animals to be eaten. I am glad that horses and dogs did not make the cut…each of you can decide how glad you are that cats were unclean…lol. But we should recognize that these lists are not arbitrary and they are nor presented as such. And isn’t it interesting that many insects are permitted, but it also doesn’t say you have to eat them either. Thank God for that, says the one with an American stomach….

  3. Rules on what is clean and unclean and what should and should not be eaten and much of it were things we still do not eat or would not want to eat!
