  1. It is a wonder that the Jewish leaders of various strata still try to trip Jesus up. And to think that the religious leaders would partner with the Herodians associated with King Herod. A common threat, Jesus, makes strange associations in the common interest of seeing Him discredited. But how brilliant Jesus’ responses are to all of them. He tears down their arguments with just a few phrases and confronts them at the same time, especially with the Sadducees. And I hope all of us are struck with the level and depth of love that Jesus asks of us. It only makes sense that we would respond to His love for us in this way.

  2. So the Pharisees had failed previously to trap Jesus now they send one of their biggest enemies the herodians with another what they think of full proof trap and they fail. so then the smug sadducies. Stepped in and get crushed.

  3. I though the same things as Pastor as I read these accounts of the Pharisees continuing to try to trip Jesus up and repeatedly walked away looking so foolish and in fact just solidifying His message and giving Him more notoriety with the people. It’s like they were making His job easier without even knowing it.
There is only one God we shold love with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and we should love our neighbors as ourself. Imagine a world where everyone put God first and then cared for others before themselves….I imagine that is what heaven looks like!

  4. Day 7- 5.11 shocking that there was a man who seemed to understand who Jesus was when he answered Jesus wisely, and Jesus tells him you are close to God‘s kingdom. It seems there are so many who just don’t see Jesus for who he is .

  5. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” A good statement to reflect upon this morning. How does this affect my decision making and my interactions with people?
