  1. It struck me how these women were coming to the tomb expecting Jesus to be dead, and honor Him by perfume his decaying body. What a shocking and yet wonderful surprise to see the body wasn’t there and that He had been raised. It would be hard to believe since it was not part of their normal experience, but Jesus was always full of surprises! And yet there was no doubt when Jesus Himself appeared to them. And I just love how Jesus has special communication for Peter and Mary. He tells the women, go tell my followers and make sure you tell Peter. And then He meets Mary outside the tomb, and with just the calling of her name, she recognizes Him. And don’t miss that she can’t touch him, but the other ladies could. And how evil the plan is to defraud Jesus and the apostles by spreading the story that they stole the body. How could they do that with guards there? And why would they leave the linen wrappings there? And why was the body never found?

  2. He IS Risen!!! Not, He was risen or He had risen. He is risen. Means it’s just as it happened today. It’s forevermore!! Defeating the last enemy. Death is not the end for us. But a future life in heaven with our Lord!! I am going to prepare a place for you!! Jesus is ruler of God’s eternal kingdom. All that He said and all that He did. The resurrection proves all of it to be true!!! Love the angel who moves a 2 ton stone away from the tomb and then sits on it. Like he’s saying. That was easy. Anything else? He didn’t move the stone to let Jesus out. But to let people in. 16 soldiers guarded that tomb. So their best defense would be thrown out of a court today within minutes . We ALL were asleep and then Jesus disciples came and moved a 2 ton stone away and we never woke up. If they were asleep how would they know who stole the body. And neatly folded up the grave clothes. HE IS RISEN!!! Interceding for us always until we go home! No better news in all the history of man !!

  3. Lent day 27
Oh glorious God! It doesn’t matter how many times you hear the story, it still amazes! His followers had such trouble believing, but finally did and remembered what Jesus had told them. Interesting that the Jews still believe the story that His body was stolen!

  4. Like a good PR firm, it is no surprise that the Jewish leaders would immediately get on damage control when they heard Jesus had indeed done what He said He would do AGAIN! He had risen from the dead, stone rolled away, linens still there, and He was alive! I imagine the elation of the women and disciples was equivalent to the horror of these Jewish leaders. No tricks, no scemes, He was alive and He was who He said He was! They knew it and they knew what they had done. I just find it so sad that they didn’t immediately fall to their knees in repentance but rather decided to spread a lie and continue to fight against the truth but I suppose there are many even today still doing the very same thing.
