  1. Why?????? Why couldn’t Jesus die without suffering. Why the beating of vicious men ripping his flesh muscles Tendons exposing his organs. Why???? Most men died from this. But it continues. Why???? Isaiah says it the best in Isaiah 53. He was smitten and despised. He was pierced for our transgressions. Crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him. And by his wounds we are healed. I read these words and I have no words but tears

  2. All is happening just as scripture and Jesus said it would. Satan thinks that he has defeated Jesus and has eliminated the problem. He thinks by controlling the people that he has won. He has been trying to stop any promise that God has made for the people of Israel and for that matter all mankind. But God is all knowing and has allowed this all to happen so that all mankind could be saved. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Only a perfect sacrifice would do and the only One that could do that was Jesus the Christ. Barabbas is like us who are deserving to die on the cross because of his sins, but Jesus took his place and ours. He was a murder and rioter and deserved to die. He knew it and was surprised to be unleashed and set free. I hope like us that he turned his life over to Christ and lived for Him. There is no hope without Christ. Seek Him, Serve Him.

  3. Hard to read. Hard to think about such torture to a man who had done nothing wrong. Hard to imagine how much Jesus still loved these peple despite their cruelty. Hard to accept that I am Barrabas getting to walk away from the fate I deserve and for Jesus to take my place.
If we had a friend that just even took a bullet for us that would change the face of our relationship forever. We would do anything for that friend or their loved ones in grattitude for such a selfless act. We would never take them for granted or forget what they had done and yet so many people reject Jesus who endured all of this for them. I agree with Mark…no words, just tears.

  4. Once again the Jewish leaders use the law manipulatively, telling Pilate if he spares Jesus, he is against Caesar. They claim Caesar as their king….treasonous to God.

”Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?” Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”“
    ‭‭John‬ ‭19‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God fulfills His purposes and prophecies through men.

  5. So sad that Jesus had to suffer so much and so unjustly. And the hypocrisy of the Jewish leaders is sickening. It is amazing that they do not see how ridiculous it is to be doing to Jesus what they do, because, but for them, Jesus would not have gone through what He did. But it was all for love….love for His Father…and love for us. And most of this suffering was not necessary for our salvation but was just part of Jesus being subjected to an evil system run by evil and cruel people. He truly shows His true nature in the composure He maintains. Jesus is amazing!!!

  6. Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. And so, anyone who declares with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believes in their hearts that God raise him from the dead will be saved. Alleluia!
