  1. Lots of reflections on the suffering and hardship faced by the people because of the poor decisions made that brought God’s discipline. Even the most basic things necessary to sustain life are threatened on some level because of being subject to another nation. I wonder how much regret the people internalized about their own disobedience and whether God’s discipline did what it is intended in bringing repentance.

  2. Apart from the heaviness and the graphic depiction of suffering Lamentations should teach us that no good comes apart from God. The decisions we make have consequences and I would never want to find myself this far from God. Lord teach me each day to abide in you.
