1 Then Job replied:

  1. Job certainly feels abandoned by his friends and wonders why they act like they don’t know him better than this to think there was some evil in him causing such affliction. He also feels abandonnded by God, where he usually finds comfort turning to God he now feels rejected by Him. But still he proclaims faith, despite the loss of his friends, his wealth, his family, and even his servants he still says he know his redeemer lives! He stands confident knowing that God can and will still rescue him, restore him, and he will feel God’s comfort again!

  2. Job feels as though God has set Himself against him and has surrounded him with trouble. This has led to him being abandoned by family, friends and servants. He begs these friends to have mercy upon him and not judge him in the way they are doing. But in spite of all this He knows God lives and He is One who redeems things, buys them back and makes them new. The present holds no promise, but because of who God is, the future is assured to have His work revealed and His purposes for Job accomplished. How powerful hope can be to help us through hard times and we always have hope in a God who can even bring good out of bad things and restore the land that the locusts have eaten.

  3. Job 19
With all that Job has been through, he remains steadfast to God even though he doesn’t really understand. Powerful.

  4. ““Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book! For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭19‬:‭23‬, ‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Your request is granted, Job, your words are in the most important book of all.

  5. Job 19
Such faith! Though Job lost everything—even his closest friends, he remains faithful to God. And he talks about the wrath of God—those who live by the sword will die by the sword.
