2“When will you end these speeches?
Be sensible, and then we can talk.

  1. Bildad is now speaking a second time. He spoke in chapter 8. He feels insulted by Job but instead of understanding how much pain and suffering Job is in not getting a clue at how wrong he and the others are he instead attacks Job and calls him an evil man that won`t have any generations to come after him and no one will even remember him and that he will dwell in a place separate from God. That his light will turn to darkness and his own counsel shall cast him down. Then he continues and says many other gruesome things that will happen to Job because he is wicked and doesn`t know God. Again just like the others , he is coming with the wrong assumptions and basing his own opinions on Job and therefore having the wrong conclusions. Again on worldly wisdom instead of Godly wisdom. God bless us all.

  2. Job 18 with friends like that who need enemies, he’s so discouraging, hurtful, unhelpful, and critical. That’s not what Gos wants or for us to act with others who are hurting and need encouragement!

  3. Bildad adds to the chorus of accusations that come against Job and he does so like others have by describing the results that come from sin, with the presumption that the descriptions explain Jobs condition. And although his explanations are mostly fitting in detailing the negative effects of sin, it is wrong for him to be so closed off to what Job is saying in his defense. Especially since we know what has caused the tragedy in Job’s life. But as we face temptation in our own lives, there are some valuable descriptions of the destructive nature of sin here that should remind us not to give into its devices since it only leads to negative consequences to our minds, bodies, and relationships with people and our God.

  4. Another painful rant from Bildad. Ironic that this one starts in defense of himself and the other friends, “how dare you talk to us like that” with no regard for how they are speaking to Job especially in his current situation. Just another reminder for us to be sure we have sought God before we counsel and that sometimes it is better to be a quiet support rather than to try to speak to those experiencing such dark times.

  5. Bildad is not any wiser than Eliphaz. He continues to inflict injury upon his friend for being in such a wretched state. Telling him that it is because he is wicked. This type of behavior does nothing to help the situation of the person suffering.
