Job 12 (NIV)
Job
1 Then Job replied:
2“Doubtless you are the only people who matter,
and wisdom will die with you!
3 But I have a mind as well as you;
I am not inferior to you.

Back: Job 11

Job is rightfully upset with his friend’s reactions. He is equally confused by what is happening. Everything he once thought about his understannding of God seems to have been turned upside down. I am sure he is even reflecting on times his reaction to someone in a similar situation may have been the same as his friends. But still he has the utmost respect for the power and sovereignty of God. He recognizes that there will always be things about God we do not understand as His thoughts are so much higher than ours. One of the hardests parts of faith is accepting the things we don’t understand and trusting anyway. Job is a great example to us that we won’t always understand and it will make us sad and frustrated and even angry but we continue to trust that the all powerful God is always in control.
Wisdom will die either way you.!! Great sarcastic answer. You three so called Friends have all the answers and Job let them know that he doesn’t need those three guys to explain God to him. He already had a very good understanding that many things are a mystery with God and the unknown future for us is in God‘s hands. I’m not sure I could do what Job does, but he continues to ask God for an answer at this point after losing all that he owned. my family, and now me three best friends saying what they say. I’m pretty sure I would’ve given up.
Job 12
Job 12 Job explains how misguided his friends are he rebukes them they were wrong to assume he had sinned and was being punished for it. Job goes on to explain the sovereignty of God and his creation and that the wisdom and power belong to God.
Job 12
Job 12
After defending himself a bit and reminding them that he is no fool and knows he has lived a good life even though he has been made a laughing stock, he reminds them and himself that God is in control of everything. There is nothing that happens on the earth that He does not have His hands in. And so Job and us can know that that is true for us as well. And if God is involved in all, we can know He is always trying to promote His ways. And although He gives people free will, we have Romans 8:28 that reigns over all.
Hebrews 10, 11
