Jeremiah 6 (NIV)

Jerusalem Under Siege
1“Flee for safety, people of Benjamin!
Flee from Jerusalem!
Sound the trumpet in Tekoa!
Raise the signal over Beth Hakkerem!
For disaster looms out of the north,
even terrible destruction.
2 I will destroy Daughter Zion,
so beautiful and delicate.
3 Shepherds with their flocks will come against her;
they will pitch their tents around her,
each tending his own portion.”............Continue Reading

  1. Hard to believe that the hardening of Israel came to this point. God allows Babylon to conquer Jerusalem. Vs 10. Their ears are closed They cannot hear. Along with. Vs 14. Don’t listen to Jeremiah and maybe he will go away. Vs 29. Reminds me in my business I melt lead from time to time. Using a very small piece of wax into the lead. All the impurities rise to the top and I scoop it away. Refining!!!

  2. 10To whom can I speak and give warning?
    Who will listen to me?
    Their ears are closed
    so they cannot hear.
    The word of the Lord is offensive to them;
    they find no pleasure in it.
    Sounds like this world to me! We speak of peace but only create fighting. We speak of tolerance but only further division. When we take God out of the discussion we are left with imperfect and easily offended man. Like the people of Israel, we are listening to the wrong voices in this country and it is leading to our own destruction.

  3. It appears that the jig is up, the die has been cast, destruction is coming on the land and on it’s people, nothing and no one will be spared from the hand of God. And yet in the midst of it all there is hope for correction and repentance. God is trying to speak, but no one will listen. He has sent his true prophet to speak of the coming judgement, but they are listening to the false priests and prophets. They are full of deceit and tell the people what they want to hear….peace, peace is coming…when the wheels of war and destruction are already on the move. But He still calls them to faithfulness. He still reminds them of all He has provided in the past, but they would not listen or follow. And that is why His wrath is upon them. There need be no question about that. They will mourn about the heartache but they will not be corrected…and that is the strongest indicator of the hardness of their heart….
