  1. God’s attention to detail is so amazing. Look at the detail he put into the human body, nature’s delicate balance, the organization of space, so many examples of how God’s plans are so far beyond anything we could ever imagine.

  2. There would be open space in the tabernacle for worshippers, levites and priests to congregate and perform their functions. At one end would be the altar of burnt offerings were sacrifices would be made. I am always struck by the fact that the lampstand was to be kept burning from evening until morning. It would take some effort to do this but what a representation of the light that God is who shines on each one of us revealing His glory that we have to strive to miss.

  3. The last verse really hit me: “It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.” I did a quick search of the words “statute forever” and these words appear many times. How do these apply today? Should the Jews still be continuing to obey and follow these statutes? I realize Christ fulfilled/changed many things…but there is that word “forever”.

    1. Amy, I think the phrase here refers to keeping the lampstand burning through the night. So as long as there was a temple/tabernacle the Jews should fulfill this ordinance….

  4. 20“Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. 21In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
