  1. Exodus 13

God leads His people…just like He does today.

Well…maybe not JUST like it. But instead of pillars of smoke and flame, we have His very Word in our hands and His Spirit with us and in us, always.

    Immanuel.

  2. God told Moses to set apart all the first born males and animals. They are His. Latter God will set apart the tribe of Levi`s as the first born instead of what is stated here. God in bringing Israel out of Egypt leads them by a pillar of cloud in the day and a pillar of fire at night. He didn`t leave them by themselves to try to wander in the wilderness. He gave them guidance. As Sean stated; God leads us through the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. God bless.

  3. Jesus promised to be with us through the end of the age, that is for us, forever. Praise be to Jesus, our light.

  4. ”And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.“
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭13‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  5. How significant the Passover was to be for the Jewish people. Even to this day it is honored amongst them due to the powerful work that God did. For generation to generation all the plagues are remembered as an indication of God’s power and care. It is unfortunate that it has become more about culture than the worship of God, but still the work of God is affirmed. That is why God did what He did, and hardened Pharaoh’s heart to do it, showing He can do anything He puts His mind to. And how is that to be remembered? They are to eat unleavened bread to remember the haste by which they had to leave. The lack of yeast will also reenforce the danger of sin and it’s permeating influence in their lives. They would also dedicate their first born to God to particularly remember this last plague. God freed them from death in the passover and that is to be commemorated by this recognition. But how important that doesn’t mean that the son is sacrificed, but a sacrifice will be made in place of him. God never condoned human sacrifice until He sacrificed His own son and dedicated Him to His purposes to redeem the world. Talk about an Independence Day!

And no better GPS than a cloud by day and pillar of fire by night. And what a great picture of God that He doesn’t make things tough at the beginning…let them get stronger before they confront the Philistines. God cares about the trials we face and manages them according to what we can handle with the provisions He gives us.

  6. A cloud by day and pillar of fire by night…an example to us that He is ever present and always with His people. He will lead us places that make us afraid and feel like we can not do it, but we must remember He never sends us anywhere alone because He is with us!
