Acts 28 (NIV)

Paul Ashore on Malta
1 Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. 3Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand.……Continue Reading

  1. God continues to provide for Paul and his travel partners and does miraculous things for him and through him. As we walk in His plan we will find provisions God has made in various forms. We will also find people agreeing with us and those who don’t. We will find people who vilify us one minute and praise us the next. And we will always find the fellowship of the saints to encourage us and make provision for us. And so Acts ends in a way that defined Paul’s ministry and the conviction he had about the gospel. Sharing his faith with whomever was willing to listen. May we have the same passion…

  2. It certainly was a long road, but Jesus promised Paul would speak in Rome and finally that day has come. As always he started with the Jews hoping they would listen to his words and as he had seen time and time again, some did and some did not. He reminded them of the words in Isaiah that are still true today, if you reject Jesus you can hear, but never understand. For those that really don’t want to turn from their sin it is easier to reject God and go about your business. Living a life with God means dying to self, dying to those things we put before Him, letting go of the control we want to have over things, and surrendering everything to Him. The easiest way to avoid dealing with our own selfishness and pride is to just not face it like many of these people did and are still doing today.

  3. Acts 28

Paul’s journey due to his persecution by those who rejected his message actually leads to him being able to spread the message to many more over a large area. God’s plan always prevails!

  4. Paul makes it to Rome. It is interesting how God uses all these side quests to spread the gospel. I believe God used (uses) persecution to spread the gospel.
