The most natural response when confronted by the glory of God is worship, sacrifice and obedience. And the Israelites respond in kind. It is interesting that there were foreigners present as well to show that others will be drawn to the glory of the Lord when we display that glory in our pwn lives when we too worship, sacrifice and obey. And I hope anyone who would quote 2 Chronicles 7:14 understands the context it is in. It is God reenforcing that He has heard Solomon’s prayer and will respond in the way that Solomon has asked. Certainly God likes all the elements of attitude and action involved in the promise, but it is most directly a promise to Solomon and the Jews about the promised land. And we are wise to adhere to the things of God and not stray away from them, and realize how quickly we can stray aways from them as Solomon will.
God immediately responds to the dedication of the temple through fire and the people acknowledge this humbly through their worship. Then God responds once more to Solomon directly. God tells him He heard his prayer and will answer it but also provides a warning. God tells Solomon to follow Me, follow My ways, and be obedient to Me and you will see blessing but if you do not you will see destruction. Still true in our own lives today!

God warns Solomon to follow His statutes and not turn away to other gods or else Israel will essentially be wiped off the map. Unfortunately this outcome comes to pass over the course of the remaining chapters of this book.

Solomon did not take the Lords words seriously. He worshipped other gods, and the Lord carried out his words by destroying the temple. God always does what he says he will do. We can trust that completely and know that everything that is said in the Bible has and will come to pass.
God fills the temple and consumes the burnt offering. The people worship.

HE is good and his love endures forever! I love this! They knelt on the pavement and put there faces on the ground. A beautiful way to worship giving thanks.
Can picture the priests blowing there trumpets and still the Israelites we standing!
