Solomon’s Other Activities
1 At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the Lord and his own palace, 2Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them. 3 Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it. 4He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath. ..........Continue Reading

  1. All Solomon’s work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid until its completion. So the temple of the Lord was completed.

  2. “And, according to the order of David his father, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their service, the Levites for their duties (to praise and serve before the priests) as the duty of each day required, and the gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate; for so David the man of God had commanded.”
Worship of the Lord was a daily duty.
Our world is so caught up in other daily duties, we forget to worship.
    I forget to worship!

  3. So I guess Solomon did orchestrate some battles and won some territory. He was also faithful to perform all his duties and maintained good relationships with some around Israel and yet built up cities on Israel’s border to add in its protection. It is good to see that He was aware of the law and hopefully followed Moses instruction to read Deuteronomy (every year I believe?) I do wonder as he moves his foreign wife away from David’s palace because she is an unholy person where a holy object had been, if he reflected on his decision to marry her in the first place. In all the good he did, we knew that his Achille’s heel was his relationship with women….it eventually will lead to his downfall…

  4. Solomon was obedient and recognized the law and upheld the duties of the kingdom. Seems his request for wisdom was in his favor. I agree with Amy that we forget worship is a duty and our lives should always reflect worship to God in everything we do!
