  1. David may not be the one to build the temple, but he certainly set Solomon up for success. It was interesting that David got the plans for how the temple would be built from the Spirit working within him. And then David gathered much of the material needed for the temple. And like a good father and leader, he gathers the leaders in Israel and gives them the plan and encourages them to follow God and help Solomon. He also encourages Solomon to stay close to God to because it will be in Him the ability to lead and accomplish the task of building the temple. What a thing it will be and how great it is to read of the beginning stages of the plan.

  2. David addresses the people and his son, Solomon. David certainly provides in great detail the plans Solomon should follow to build the temple, things that came to him from the Spirit. He also gives him great instruction for his heart and life to be obedient and follow God all his days. This is how as a parent you always want to set your children up for success with the tools and the wisom you have gained through your life, experiences, and even mistakes. But even under the best of circumstances, they will likely still make their own mistakes and learn their own lessons, just like Solomon.

  3. 1 Chronicles 27 & 28

“David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished.”

I read these words at the end of Chapter 28, and I equate God speaking the same to us. God is with us and He will not fail us or forsake us until the work is done here on the earth and Christ returns again. Encouraging thoughts for these end times!

  4. ““As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.”
    ‭‭I Chronicles‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  5. Psalm 122; Ezekiel 42; 1 Chronicles 28

““As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

  6. 1 st chronicles 28 –
9“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

Isn’t that what God wants from us to serve him with a wholehearted devotion and a willing mind?
