Clearly Solomon’s kingdom was famous not only for its material prosperity but also for his great wisdom. The Queen of Sheba, who was clearly very wealthy herself, was overwhelmed at both his knowledge and his kingdom’s wealth when she came to see it all for herself. He reigned for 40 years, however as he was fairly young when he started so it appears he did not live a very long life. But he did live what seemed to me to be a very indulgent life to say the least between his wealth and women and that will catch up with you.
All that is said of Solomon here just shows that God is faithful to His promises. God made him wise, rich and famous. It is hard not to let things like this go to your head, and what we know of Solomon making bad decisions with women and false gods, he did. May our own successes cause us to thank God and be drawn to Him rather than it leading us to become full of ourselves and forsaking Him.

2 Chronicles 9 & 10
“Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame of which I heard.”
II Chronicles 9:5-6 NKJV
“Blessed be the Lord your God, who delighted in you, setting you on His throne to be king for the Lord your God! Because your God has loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.””
II Chronicles 9:8 NKJV
Sheba recognizes Solomon’s wisdom is from God. When the world recognizes the blessings of Christ on believers, we should be sure to give Him the glory. Sometimes difficult as it may come across as arrogant or pious. Best to just keep one’s mouth shut or say, “thanks.”
2 chronicles 9 and 10
The queen of Sheba understood that God gave Solomon everything because he delighted in Him and so placed him on the throne as king to rule with wisdom to maintain justice and righteousness. It was God who made him greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. He is the One who gives us all the blessings that we have. None of it is acquired outside of His will. So we praise Him for everything!
