Reading along with us in 2 Chronicles and Luke? Here’s today’s reading:
2 Chronicles 20 (NIV)
Jehoshaphat Defeats Moab and Ammon
1 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat.
2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom,…..Continue Reading

Back: 2 Chronicles 19

A threat comes and Jehoshaphat immediately turns to God for counsel. What a beautiful picture of all the people coming together to seek God on this matter. And from what appears to be a great magnitude of people, one man emerges with a response from God. Just such an awesome interaction between God and His people! And while God said don’t be afraid the battle is His, there was still something He expected of them and that was their faith! They had to believe that God had their backs in battle and they had to march toward their enemies. God can do the work but we always have a role to play, we are walking WITH Him. He goes before us but we go too! So the people did just that and experienced an amazing victory and so much plunder it took 3 days to collect!
What a great account we see here. I love to see Jehoshaphat’s leadership in the situation and how all the people responded to it. He hears about the trouble and then gives direction as to how they will respond. He calls a fast and then prays before the people remembering who God is, what He had done and what He had promised. And all the people are there to hear him and they stand together before the Lord. Standing strong together because of Him! And when the prophet declares God’s work, Jehoshaphat bows down before Him and the worshippers, worship God. And then Jehoshaphat follows the directions. And what an amazing victory God brings to the people. How awesome is His power and might. How able He is to handle our enemies and problems as we trust, pray and praise Him! And then be blessed by what the enemies of God had. Oh, but how important it is for us to stay true and not be lead astray by other people and the relationships we have with them. But when we do that, God will not give us success.
If you listen on Sunday morning. You already know whats going to happen. Every circumstance ask of the lord. What ever trial. Ask. Whatever praise. Sing hymns. In all circumstances cry out the name of Jesus.

Worship is a weapon.
“Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”
