  1. Samuel anoints Saul with oil to make him king in a private meeting. Then Samuel has all the people go to the Lord in Mizpeh where he reminds Israel of how they rejected God and wanted a king to rule over them. He then has all the tribes present themselves and the tribe of Benjamin is chosen. Then finally getting down to Saul. After finding him hiding, Saul is made king. Samuel followed God`s leading in all of this. It had to been done in front of Israel to show them publicly who God chose. God bless.

  2. Samuel follows through on God’s plan to anoint Saul king, but he does so privately and then publicly. One wonders if the private meeting was done so Samuel can see whether God will affirm the choice by accomplishing in Saul and with Saul the things that Samuel directs. So once God changes Saul and he is filled with the Spirit to prophesy, Samuel is more assured that God is with him. So then Samuel calls on Saul publicly so the people can agree to make Saul king, even though Samuel reminds them that this was their idea and not God’s.

  3. Three signs come to pass confirming all Saul had heard from Samuel about him becoming king. He still seems fearful and humble about all that is happening. He shares no details about what happened with Samuel and is found hiding among the stuff when his lot is called. How often do we doubt the blessings God has for us, how often do we let fear or self doubt stop us from boldness? God prepares and provides for us in everything He wants us to do but we must trust and be willing to step into it and Saul seems to be at that point in this chapter.

  4. 1 Samuel 10
Saul is afraid of being a king.He actually hides.Samuel shared God’s word. He did not keep it to himself. He did not let it fail.
