  1. I read it! I can’t really comment much other than to say the genealogies are really important in the Bible as they were records of lineage and a major component of God’s covenants. Through Abraham all nations will be saved, the line of David, etc. so they are important to follow.

  2. It is interesting to read the historical account of the rise of nations.
I also found it interesting to see how Esau developed into the nation of Edom, especially in light of the study in Obadiah recently and how Edom betrayed his kindred, Israel, and while Israel is restored Edom is destroyed forever.

  3. Where we go and who we become begins with where we came from. What we are established in has influence on what we then become, but does not free us from the responsibility to make right choices ourselves. Genealogies were important to the Jews ( and that is why this information was known/available) and not as important to us, but there is always interest and curiosity to discover our roots. Just consider the companies that make money taking swabs to let people know their heritage. These things still matter to people and it clearly matters to God and that is why the genealogies pop up periodically in the Bible.
