Romans 8 (NIV)
Life Through the Spirit
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering……Continue Reading
Romans 8. All I can say is AMEN.
What a terrible thing to happen earlier. The attempt to assassinate former president; Donald Trump. Thank God; He protected him. Pray for him and all his family. Also pray for the person`s family of the one that got killed. Also for the others that were seriously hurt. Pray that the country will come together no matter what side politically and stop the hatred and violence. We need a revival in this country where people`s hearts are changed which only Jesus Christ can do. I also hope and pray that the person that was killed knew the Lord. There are a few verses in Romans 8 that might apply. Romans 8: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.} Romans 8:31 { What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?} Romans 8:28 { And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.} The real battle is between good and evil. It is a spiritual battle between God and Satan. Satan hates God and us as believers. But Satan also hates humankind for they are God`s creation. He is pushing all this evil in our world and he is using mankind to destroy themselves. Just look at how spread sin is throughout the world. Come quickly Lord Jesus. But don`t worry. God is still on the throne. He has His own timetable but there will be a limit of how much mankind destroys themselves. This is all a result of mans sin which started with Adam. This is what the world looks like without the True Living God. What do we do? We pray and share the gospel. God bless all of you.
I agree, Dennis, we are in a spiritual battle. Evil is showing itself openly in such a short period of time. It seems it was more subtle before, but looking back in time you can see the slow infiltration.
Satan plays the long game.
Romans 8
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39 NIV

This is a particularly comforting passage!
Romans 8
Romans 8
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
We have the power, through Christ, to stand against out sin nature and make a choice to live a life that glorifies God. But we must choose to do so. We know we can never be perfect but it is like what Josiah said on Sunday…it isn’t about being sinless, it is sinning less!
Romans 8 we are free from the guilt of sin and we are free from the power of sin because what Christ did for us by going to a cross not by the law. We have the power of Christ living in us through the Holy Spirit. Verse 6 the mind of sinful man is death the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace.
How do you comment on Roman’s ch 8. To think of all the incredible truths that are written Not guilty before God.!! Set free!!!! Mind controlled by the spirit is peace !!!! A spirit that calls out abba Father. Free from fear!!! Children of God. Heirs of God and co heirs with Christ!!! All things Gods works for good for those who have been called!!!! And nothing can separate our relationship with God!!!! Cmon. Everyone should be commenting and leaping for joy. Wake up!!!
Yes Mark, what an incredible chapter in Scripture just chock full of amazing truth. It is beyond words to think that we would be in-dwelt by none other than God Himself through His Spirit and as we surrender more of our mind, heart and will to Him, we will find the power and the conviction to overcome the flesh with all its evil desires and influence. It only brings death and destruction to our souls while the Spirit brings life and peace. The Spirit’s activity in our life is also the indicator that we have Jesus in us. And what a privilege to have both of them interceding for us. But they not only provide power for living and interceding for us, but also work circumstances for us who love God and seek Hs purposes to be for the good. And if all this isn’t enough, we have the affirmation of God’s love and protection for us that will never go away and nothing can take us from it. What a wonderful plan that He has made, full of provisions to help us live our lives! It is truly priceless!
These are the wonderful promises of God our Father to those who are in Christ Jesus: No condemnation. Free from the law of sin and death. Minds governed by the Spirit who gives life and peace. The Spirit of God living in us. The Spirit raising our bodies from the dead. We are the children of God, heirs of God, and co-heirs with Jesus. Everything in our lives working out for good. Nothing separating us from him. Praise the Lord!
Absolutely Shelly. This chapter is just full of promises of God…promises that should have absolutely staggering implications in the life of someone who professes faith in Christ. While Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection made our salvation possible and effectual, it is the Holy Spirit who serves as the guarantee of our inheritance…indeed the seal of our salvation…the very Spirit of God, not only living within the Christian, but in fact giving them their very life. And how could this not be so? For we know we were dead in our trespasses without Christ…but in Christ, we are given new life…eternal life, life that is abundant and overflowing…life that enables us to consider ourselves dead to sin and to live in the God-given Freedom to obey our Lord…not because He forces us…but out of unending gratitude and outflowing evidence of the Spirit of God dwelling within us, His adopted sons and daughters.
37 ¶ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I had this whole chapter memorized, but I need to brush up! It is a gem to have hidden in one’s heart.
It helps to pay attention to the words that are emphasized in this verse:
We WILL NOT be separated from God’s love when we go through trouble and hardship. NO. In ALL THINGS we are MORE THAN conquerors through Him who loves us.
