The Throne in Heaven
1 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it...........Continue Reading

  1. Thanks for your comments Pastor about not subscribing to these seven churches that they are the church age. I have always heard that teaching. I don`t remember hearing anything else. Thanks for saying that. I might after rethink that. What you said makes perfect sense. We can apply any of these teachings to our lives. While reading chapter 4 tonight I came across the phrase the seven spirits of God. It says that there are seven lamps of fire burning before the throne , which are the seven spirits of God. [ verse 5b ]. John is taken up in the spirit and sees the glorious throne in heaven. And one sat upon it. There was a rainbow around the throne like an emerald. The one that sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. Around the throne are 24 elders dressed in white. There are also four living creatures around the throne. Each one has their own description. The creatures give glory to God who was, and is, and is to come. Then the 24 elders sing and give him honor to the creator. They lay down their crowns before the throne. Is this God or Jesus on the throne/ In the next chapter the lamb of God takes the book that is sealed with seven seals out of the right hand of the one that is seated on the throne. It would seem that God the Father is the one on the throne.

  2. What an incredible, glorious, powerful and a bit overwhelming scene described here as the throne room of the King of Kings. It illicits a sense of wonder for our great God as He is described in the way He is and is surrounded by all these beings. It is a place of light, power, authority and worship. And the worship is continual because that is what He is worthy of! What rights and privilege comes from creating all things and all things having their being by His will. It is awesome to think that this throne of glory and power is also a throne of mercy, grace and love. Won’t it be something when we are there ourselves and we will see Him as He is, because we will be like Him…or like Jesus…but He shares in His nature as well!

  3. What an amazing picture of the throne of God. Such beauty but also awesome power and overwhelming praise to sit in this presence. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. Who was and is and is to come. we should all have those words on our lips nonstop and what a difference it would make in our daily perspective.

  4. Revelations 4 gives an awesome picture of God’s splendor. John heard the voice of Christ and he describes it like a trumpet. The vision John sees through the Holy Spirit, he sees a complete rainbow encircling the Throne. There was a sea of glass clear as crystal, what a picture this chapter gives us of the Magnificence of our God!

  5. John gets the opportunity to see what heaven is like. It is an amazing sight, with God having the appearance of jasper and ruby, the rainbow encircling the throne, flashes of lightning, sounds of thunder, a sea of glass like crystal, and 24 elders and 4 living creatures worshipping the Lord. When we praise God we are joining these heavenly beings in worship! And the elders have golden crowns on their heads. It must be wonderful to have something beautiful to lay down before God while praising him in heaven.
